The universal base pack (all KITAS categories)
Regardless of which KITAS you are applying for, the following documents are always required.
- Valid passport with at least 18 months validity from the intended entry date and at least three blank pages. The passport must not be damaged and must be a machine-readable modern biometric passport.
- Regulation visa photograph. A colour photograph on a solid red background, sized 413 by 531 pixels, showing your head and shoulders with a neutral expression. Kitas VIP produces this automatically from a phone selfie during the applicant flow, using MediaPipe segmentation to replace the background with the correct red shade.
- Completed applicant details form. Personal information such as full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number, home address, Indonesian address, employer or sponsor, phone and email. Captured through the Kitas VIP in-app flow.
- Health and life insurance. Coverage valid for the full duration of stay in Indonesia. Minimum statutory cover is modest, but most applicants carry international expat policies well above that floor.
- Financial evidence. Bank statements (typically the last three months) showing you can support yourself in Indonesia. Required thresholds vary by category.
- Clean criminal record. For some categories and nationalities, a basic criminal background check from your home country is required.
- Proof of accommodation. A lease agreement, hotel booking confirmation, or host statement showing where you will live in Indonesia.

What Kitas VIP produces for you
Many items on the list are things Kitas VIP handles internally so you do not have to. We produce the regulation passport photograph from a phone selfie. We prepare the applicant details form, the sponsor letters for visa categories where we act as sponsor, and the case summary forms. We coordinate with Indonesian notaries for translation and legalisation when needed. We also bundle renewals into a rolling case file so you do not have to resubmit documents every year.
What you supply: your passport, your employment or investment evidence, your insurance policy, your family documents where relevant, and answers to a short questionnaire. That is all.
