What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. They are an important part of how modern web applications work, but they can also be used to track you across the internet. Kitas VIP uses cookies only where they are strictly necessary for the service to function.
Cookies we use
Session cookie: kitas_admin
When an administrator signs in to the Kitas VIP admin console, we set a session cookie called kitas_admin. This cookie contains an opaque random session token that identifies the current admin session. It does not contain any personal data. It is set with the HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict and Secure flags so that it cannot be read by client-side scripts and is only transmitted over HTTPS. The cookie expires when the session ends or when the session token's TTL is reached, whichever comes first.
Regular applicants and visitors to the public pages do not receive this cookie. It is only set after a successful admin login.
Browser storage: language preference
The applicant flow remembers your chosen display language using localStorage (not a cookie, strictly speaking) so that returning visitors see the site in their preferred language without having to pick it again. This is stored only in your browser and is never sent to our servers.
Cookies we do not use
- Analytics cookies. We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, Mixpanel, Segment, Matomo or any other analytics platform.
- Advertising cookies. We do not run Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insights or any other advertising tracker.
- Social media cookies. We do not embed social media widgets that set cookies on your behalf.
- Cross-site tracking. We do not participate in any kind of cross-domain tracking.
- Fingerprinting. We do not use browser fingerprinting or similar techniques to identify users without cookies.
Third party services that may set their own cookies
The Kitas VIP site loads two external resources that your browser may cache separately:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com). Used to serve the Inter typeface. Google Fonts follows its own privacy practices. Per Google's documentation, font requests do not set cookies. - jsDelivr (
cdn.jsdelivr.net). Used to load the MediaPipe selfie segmentation library that powers our regulation visa photograph capture. jsDelivr is an open source CDN that also does not set tracking cookies.
How to control cookies
You can control cookies directly in your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third party cookies, delete existing cookies, or be prompted before any cookie is set. Because Kitas VIP only uses strictly necessary session cookies for the admin console, blocking cookies will not affect your ability to use the public applicant flow. If you sign in to the admin console, blocking the session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in.
Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy if we add new features or change our cookie practices. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes are announced on the home page for at least 30 days.
